Spring

Welcome back after, what we hope was, a restful holiday.

The nursery class have started to learn about signs of Spring
(even though they are very difficult to find with all the snow!)
with a focus on farm animals and their babies.

We have been singing

and learning the nursery rhyme

Some of the children have made some Spring crafts
which can be seen on our beautiful seasonal board in the classroom.

We have been learning how to make a pattern
(the stripes on a bee) and about symmetry (spots on a ladybird).

This week we have read the books:

What the Ladybird Heard
The Scarecrows Wedding
A Squash and a Squeeze
Each, Peach, Pear, Plum

The end of another term!

This term has really flown by!
Lots of events have kept us busy,
the last two weeks being no exception.

To link with the celebration of defenders day, we have learned about 'People that help us' and we turned one of our play areas in to a fire station. This has definitely opened up the imaginations of the children as they took upon the roles of authority.

We made cards to give to our daddy's.

We have also been busy making things for our mummy's to celebrate Women's Day.

All of the nursery staff wish you a very happy and restful holiday.

The Gruffalo

Nursery has had a lovely week learning about 'The Gruffalo'.

We have read the book, made our very own Gruffalo

and had fun making a mess
with 'scrambled snake', 'owl ice-cream' and 'roasted fox'!

Colours

Well, we have had another busy week in nursery!
This week we have focused on learning colours and what happens when we mix colours together!

We made some new red playdough!

We have also been enjoying our new ball pool!

We have read a book about a white rabbit who had an exciting time jumping in to different pots of colours.
He got very messy, but very colourful!

This week was also nursery's turn to lead assembly.
We performed one of our favourite number songs,
5 Little Monkeys.
We hoped everyone enjoyed watching.

Dinosaurs

Happy New Year and welcome back after the holidays!
We hope you have started the year feeling fully rested.

We have started learning new songs this week in nursery to help us learn the days of the week, counting to 10 and the alphabet. Everyone has enjoyed learning them and have tried so hard.

If you would like to sing these songs at home
please find the links below.

Our theme for this week has been dinosaurs.

We have read books and discussed dinosaur facts,
we have read funny books about dinosaurs and discussed what it would be like to have a dinosaur friend.

We have even created our own dinosaurs!!
